Eat Out Review: Red Mango Frozen Yogurt & Smoothies

Red Mango SuperBiotics Smoothies Summer Logo

There are a lot of frozen yogurt shops in our area:  the long-timers that have been around forever, the self-serve and pay-by-the-ounce spots, and a few newbies.  I hadn’t tried Red Mango and didn’t know what set it apart from the others until now.  Red Mango sent us some gift cards to give it a try, so I took my Sweet Diner out for a sweet treat just for the girls.

Red Mango’s frozen yogurt contains only natural ingredients with no artificial sweeteners or high-fructose corn syrup, is fortified with Superbiotics (probiotics), and most (if not all) of their small cups of yogurt contain 100-200 calories and no fat.  They are all gluten-free.  In addition to their frozen yogurt, Red Mango just launched 22 new Super Biotic Smoothies this summer and several smoothie boosts.  They have smoothies formulated for just about everyone including ones that are dairy- and soy-free and ones just for kids.

Sweet Diner and I tried a couple different yogurts and smoothies.

Red Mango White Peach Frozen Yogurt

White Peach Frozen Yogurt with Strawberries, Blueberries, & Mango Poppers – The White Peach yogurt was like eating fresh peaches (and I know my peaches – we grew up with peach trees in our yard).  It was amazing!

Red Mango Creamy Peanut Butter Frozen Yogurt

Creamy Peanut Butter Frozen Yogurt with Brownie Bites & Bananas – I had never had peanut butter frozen yogurt before, but it was really good.  Not too strong, but a nice real peanut butter flavor.  It was great with the bananas, but the brownie bites were a dark chocolate that wasn’t sweet enough for this combination (although I love dark chocolate).

Red Mango Strawberry Banana Smoothie

Strawberry Banana Smoothie – Their most popular smoothie with lots of fresh strawberries and bananas.

Red Mango Tropical Mango Smoothie

Tropical Mango – This was a delicious and smooth blend of fresh mango and pineapple.

There were samples of smoothies at the counter, so we also got to try the Banana PB Protein, which was a nutty blend of bananas, peanut butter, and oatmeal.  Everything we tried was smooth, creamy, and fresh with real fruit flavors.  The service was friendly, helpful, and fast.  The selection of yogurt itself (and toppings) was not as diverse as most places around (there were four flavors), but what they had was really high quality, and the selection of smoothies makes up for it (there are even “spoonable smoothies”).

  1. Yum! I love frozen yogurt! I think I went to red mango once, but it was a long time ago, I think when they first opened. They only had one or two flavors. Now that they have more I might be able to convince my husband to go their with me – I love how healthy their yogurt is! And especially since they have a peanut butter flavor – he would love that!

  2. I am a total fan of Red Mango. I just found out about them only a couple of months ago. Yummy! They also seem to have a lot of different coupons and deals to get it cheaper.
