LongHorn Steakhouse Coming to Utah!

A new steakhouse is opening in Utah this week.  You may think that isn’t a big deal since we have quite a few steakhouses around the state, but if you’re saying that, then you’ve probably never been to a LongHorn Steakhouse.  We had never been to LongHorn until the pre-opening event last week, but after that visit we are quite excited to welcome them to the state!

We were treated to an amazing dinner of LongHorn specialties at their new Midvale, Utah location which is officially opening tomorrow, Dec. 4, 2012!  Their high-quality steaks, seafood, and chicken are fresh, never frozen.  Everything we sampled was well-prepared, excellently seasoned, tender, & juicy.  My mouth is watering just thinking about all the delicious foods we were treated to. 

LongHorn Steakhouse Grilled White Cheddar Stuffed Mushrooms

Grilled White Cheddar Stuffed Mushrooms ($7.99):  a nice, meaty mushroom stuffed with creamy cheese that has a perfect crunchy crust on top. 

LongHorn Steakhouse Wild West Shrimp

Wild West Shrimp ($9.29):  With their crunchy breading, a slight kick from the cherry peppers garlic butter, , & house-made ranch dressing to dip, these were a favorite at our table!

LongHorn Steakhouse Flo's Filet

Flo’s Filet, 7 oz. ($18.99):  Fork-tender and juicy, this was another favorite at our table.

LongHorn Steak Sauce LongHorn Steak Sauce 2

Steak Sauce ($1.99):  Their steaks are prepared & seasoned so well that you don’t need steak sauce, but with this unique prepared-at-your-table style, you should give it a try!  It was so fun and smelled and tasted heavenly!

LongHorn Steakhouse Salmon

LongHorn Salmon, 7 oz. ($15.99):  Marinated in bourbon marinade and grilled.

LongHorn Steakhouse Parmesan Crusted Chicken

Parmesan-Crusted Chicken ($15.79):  Mine just had a bit of “crustiness”, but the melted cheese provided a nice creamy accompaniment to some of the juiciest, most tender chicken!  I don’t often order chicken at a restaurant, but I’d order this one!

LongHorn Steakhouse Porterhouse for 2

Porterhouse for 2 ($39.99):  This is a 30-ouncer, baby!  It’s a filet and New York Strip in one.  I love that it’s pre-sliced for easy eating!  I think this was my favorite!  It was so flavorful!  It is served with a head of roasted garlic and their steak sauce if you want to enhance the flavor even more.

We tried three sides:  the Fresh Steamed Asparagus, Mashed Potatoes, & Seasoned Rice Pilaf.  Of the three, the buttery mashed potatoes were our favorite! 

For dessert, The LongHorn Dessert Sampler ($8.59)was served to our table, which gives you smaller portions of three of their classic desserts.  Our server told us their Key Lime Pie is to die for, too!

Chocolate Stampede:  This was the favorite of Mr. & Mrs. Diner and Little Diner!  Six types of chocolate in one fantastic dessert!  I loved the way the cake and mousse layers combined into a delicious chocolate experience with just a hint of cinnamon.

LongHorn Steakhouse Caramel Apple Goldrush

Caramel Apple Goldrush:  Sweet apple pie with a thick, sugar-topped crust served with a caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream. 

LongHorn Steakhouse Mountaintop Cheesecake

Mountaintop Cheesecake:  See that REAL strawberry sauce?  Mmmm-hmmm.  Fresh strawberry flavor on a creamy cheesecake that features a brown sugar-graham cracker crust – irresistible and the favorite of both Amazing & Sweet Diner!

Above prices are based on menus in other regions; prices may be different at this location.  Also, our serving sizes were either the same or smaller than regular portion sizes since this was a special pre-opening event.  Regular orders feature choice of a side, salad, & unlimited honey wheat bread. 

The friendly people of LongHorn were welcoming and gracious hosts.  Our server Kathlene was phenomenally helpful in meeting our needs, answering our questions, and making suggestions. 

LongHorn Steakhouse Interior

LongHorn Steakhouse will be opening its doors in Midvale, Utah on Tuesday, Dec. 4th.  Following that, they will be opening a location in Ogden, then one at The District in South Jordan.  They hope to open a total of six to eight Utah locations in the next couple years which will add about 1,000 jobs to our community!  (Where do you thin they should open a new location?  I’m shooting for Provo/Orem!)  LongHorn likes to be involved in the community, so keep an eye out for them!  They also host Live at LongHorn in-restaurant concerts and meet-and-greets featuring country artists.  The evening we were there featured Grammy-nominated David Nail. 

We had a 5-star experience at LongHorn and can’t wait to go back!  While you’re out and about this holiday season, take the time to stop by and have dinner at LongHorn Steakhouse and let me know what you think.

  1. Had lunch at our new Longhorn in Johnson City, TN. WOW, what a great experience. The mushroom appetizer is to die for! They have the best cheeseburgers ever and the Parm. crusted chicken is the best thing I have ever eaten-HONEST!

    • Totally agree with you on both the mushroom appetize & the Parmesan crusted Chicken! They are both SO good! Haven’t tried the cheeseburgers yet…thanks for the tip!
