Review: Three New Lindt Excellence Dark Chocolate Bars

Three New Lindt Excellence Bars

I think I have a problem.  I can’t resist buying a new Lindt chocolate bar.  If I see them on the shelf, it automatically finds its way into my hand, then into my cart, & ultimately into my belly.

To my delight, last week I discovered three new Lindt Excellence bars at my local Super Target!  All three were dark chocolate and were three flavors I was really excited about:  Passion Fruit, Coconut, & Caramel With a Touch of Sea Salt.  Is your mouth watering like mine was?

Once home, I sacrificed portions of the bars to share with my three kiddos and even to share with a good chocolate-loving friend.  The Passion Fruit had a fairly strong fruit flavor with little bits of almond.  The Coconut was fantastic…like a sophisticated Mounds bar.  It had a rich dark chocolate bar with bits of coconut.  It was definitely the favorite.  A close second for me was the Caramel With a Touch of Sea Salt.  I love chocolate, caramel, & sea salt together.  There’s something about those three things…a rich chocolate with a chewy, sweet caramel, and the added crunch and flavor from the sea salt are just about the perfect combination.  It just reminds me that I need to buy some Fleur de Sel sea salt!

  1. I've tried the passion fruit, but hadn't seen the new coconut or caramel with sea salt dark chocolate bars. I'm like you, always have to try the new ones. I'll look for them the next time I'm at the store. Have you tried the Lindt 70% Cocoa Almond Brittle bar? Very intense chocolate flavor, but good.

  2. Touring in England May 2012 I purchased Lindt's Dark Chocolate Caramel with Sea Salt, shared it with my 3 companions and the quest was on!!! The smooth deep chocolate melts from the small crunchy caramel bits as you finally taste that hint of sea salt. . . omg! Numerous days and stops later finally found 19 bars buried in the deep reaches of the Lindt chocolate display at a sizable market (guessing someone else hid it and was mightily disappointed when discovered it missing). Our excitement mimicked youngsters at Christmas as we bought every single bar @ £1.83, bringing 14 back stateside to share with our closest friends. I have found it in the states and now you can hunt for it too!
